The Virgin Islands Department of Education (VIDE) extends warm holiday wishes to all public-school students, faculty, and staff as they embark on the holiday break, which officially begins on Thursday, December 19, 2024. All schools will be closed during this designated break period.

As we approach the end of the year, students, parents, and guardians are reminded that report cards are being distributed Territory-wide according to each school’s distribution schedule and designated campus locations. Students are encouraged to adhere to their school’s report card pickup guidelines to ensure a smooth process.

Important Dates for January 2025

VIDE informs the public of the following dates regarding the resumption of school operations after the break:

• Tuesday, January 7, 2025 – Teachers return for Classroom Preparation Day.
• Wednesday, January 8, 2025 – Students return to school, marking the start of the 3rd Marking Period/2nd Semester.

Additionally, VIDE is pleased to announce that the following schools in the St. Croix District, which were previously operating on a modified schedule, will resume their regular operating hours on January 8, 2025:

• Eulalie Rivera PreK-8 School
• St. Croix Central High School
• St. Croix Educational Complex High School
• St. Croix Career and Technical Education Center (CTEC)

Holiday Safety and Well Wishes

The Virgin Islands Department of Education urges students to prioritize safety and make responsible decisions during the holiday season. With many festivities happening across the community, it is important to remain vigilant, kind, and supportive of one another.

As we prepare to welcome students back in the new year, VIDE encourages families to spend quality time together, stay positive, and, where possible, incorporate learning activities such as reading a good book or reviewing schoolwork.
