Vacation

Eligible new employees earn up to 13 days of vacation per year, with a maximum year-to-year carry over of 60 days. Eligibility to accrue vacation begins with the first work day.

Sick Leave

Eligible employees accumulate up to 13 days of sick leave per year. Eligibility to accrue sick leave begins with the first work day, and there is no limitation on the amount of sick leave that may be accumulated.

Retirement Plan

Eligible employees are required to join the Employee Retirement System. This is a defined-benefit retirement plan, with a required contribution of 9.5% of salary. ____________________________________________________________________________________________________

Group Life Insurance

At no cost, all employees are covered for Life and Accidental Death and Dismemberment Insurance Policy valued at $10,000. However, supplemental life insurance is available at a cost to eligible employees depending on the level of coverage options selected. ____________________________________________________________________________________________________

Health Benefit Plans

The GVI offers the following health benefit plans for eligible employees:

   •  Dental Plan
   •  Prescription Drug Plan
These benefits are administered by the Division of Personnel’s Group Health Insurance Office, and contributions are payroll deducted. ___________________________________________________________________________________________________

Holidays
